In-Text Bracket and Number {#} Instead of Footnote

Each time I ‘Insert Citation’ instead of inserting a Chicago Footnote based on my settings, it inserts an in-text citation with a derivative of: { # }. How do I fix this?

Thanks!

This happens because you have turned off “Instant Fomatting” (see your toolbar).
You can turn this feature back on, or click “Update Citations and Bibliography”.

Thank you for that!

It is not not posting the {#} into the text.

However, the footnote is not appearing (see image 1) but the citation is appearing in my citations list (see image 2).

Help?!

Thanks!

To use a footnote style, you need to insert a footnote using Words tools and then paste your endnote citation into the footnote itself.
