Keeps Adding New Reference Sections

Hi All, 

The problem i am having is that when i save the document with say 50 references in my  reference section.

When re-open the word document as add new (more) references it creates a NEW reference section below the origional one. I only want one reference section in APA6 style, not multiple one, how can i fix this?

Have I done something silly?

Help Please i am so stuck
