Not all data being entered into EndNote is sourced from a reliable, vetted databank eg PubMed, PsychInfo etc.
Imagine, I have created a new reference t(e.g., for book) which was entered into EndNote without it being examined in hand. Say I got this reference from a web page found in a search. I want to put it EndNote and keep going with other research activity. But I don’t know whether that is the exact title or the correct year of publication, or the correct Publisher.
So as I put it in my endnote library I want a reminder that it still needs to be checked.
It seems to me that a field which can be used to flag this is essential.
