Problem searching databases other than PubMed:

I’m using recent versions of Endnote on several Apple machines. I can search PubMed database no problem. But,

  • when searching for books, in the Library of Congress database, it often returns records that don’t resemble the search criteria, and misses real books that would match the query.
  • when searching Web of Science, it doesn’t work at all, always says no records found for papers that I know exist.
    Does anyone have a good way of searching database of books, and papers that aren’t biomedical (philosophy, physics, computer science)?

I think this is down to the Libraries search engine. Endnote will give it the search parameters and the rest it up to the Libraries system.
