Problem with commas

Hi,

I am using Endnote X4 and the J Applied Microbiology Style.

The problem is when I insert a citation for a paper with two authors, it displays the citation like this in the text eg. Roberts and Smith 2011. I need it to display Roberts and Smith, 2011 (with a comma).

If there are more than two authors e.g. Smith et al., 2011 it displays the reference correctly.

I’ve been using this style for a while, and never had a problem and now this problem has cropped up, not sure why.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

The style must have been altered, or you are using a different style.  (edited because I was wrong in my original answer).

The citation template needs to be (Author, Year) and the  et al should stay as it was with no comma.
