Publising and EndNote database online

Hi,

Is it possible to publish the contents of an EndNote database online? I am trying to make a database of references that I would like to publish on a website and have the website update when I update the endnote database? It does not have to be online but on an internal server. Basically, is there a way to get access to an EndNote database without opening the program? I manage a huge EndNote database which other people open and close to check to see if we have the reference or they need to download it. Users that are not ver familiar with the program often move or delete references by accident so I would like to publish the contents of the database either online or on an internal server site which they can check and search without opening the EndNote file.

Thanks for reading and your suggestions.

PS: I use EndNote X4

don’t know of any way, but we solve the problem of not having anyone delete or or move references, by copying the library (and .DATA folders) to a read only folder on a nightly basis.  Multiple people can access it at the same time, as well.

in this way there are chances to be done give a trial

EndNote Web might be a great solution to this problem. You can transfer references from your EndNote desktop program up to the web, and then EndNote Web lets you share them with other users. You control who references are shared with, and you can also give other people the ability to add, edit and delete shared references.

Thanks for the replies!

Is EndNote Web still limited to 10,000 references like it used to be?

oops, deleted response and added in edit.  I had no idea if EN Web was restricted to a certain number.  Sorry for the glib answer.

and so I have looked it up, and find:

“You can save up to 10,000 records in your Endnote Web library. Records contained in folders that other users share with you don’t count toward your 10,000 record limit.”

oops, I deleted my previous response after re-reading the question.  I had no idea if EN Web was restricted to a certain number.  Sorry for the glib answer.
