I happen to work with many manuals and guides; it would be beneficial to have these types of references separately be added to the list of ref types when we add references manually.

Having a designated reference type for manuals and guides would be helpful. However, in the interim Endnote includes three unused reference type templates which can be customized to accommodate references such as manuals and guides or other user-specific needs. Also note that with each reference type are custom fields which can be activated and included in the output style file.
