Upgrade from X2 to X7

Hi,

I’d like to upgrade from X2 to X7 - using the 25-character product key obtained for X2 back in 2008.

Wil this work?

no – it should be a shorter number that came on the case or with the product starting with 5 (PC) or 2 or 3?  (Mac).

I’ve got one like this too - a ten digit Serial Number / Product Key beginning with 5 .

I should hope all will be fine then.

With EndNote X7, you can use either the old Product Key or the Serial Number in order to perform the upgrade.

Thanks for these replies. I tried upgrading, filled in the checkout details, added the 10% discount code received earlier in the mail, but when I clicked continue, I got an error screen:

Server Error

Error:

EXCEPTION_REQ_000001_MESSAGE

Error Number:  REQ_000001

I received great support via email and phone, and was able to complete the purchase and install X7. So far so good :slight_smile: Many thanks for all the help received here too.
