Ok I have entered the overall complex data for an edited book (Festschrift) that is part of a series with its own editors, etc. Now I want to create an entry for an article in that book (book section) with its own author. OK how do I call on the data from the complete edited book to fill in the relevant entries for the Book Section? There must be a simpler way than cut and paste or re-rentry of data…
You might think so, but it isn’t a relational database, so you can copy the book, (ctrl C, ctrl v) to make a duplicate record, open it and change the ref type to book section, and move the editor and book title to the correct fields. then copy that record and paste as many times as you need it, and fill in the rest of the information.
