I just started using Endnote V7.5 and Word 2016 for PC (Windows 10). I noticed that when I added the EndNote Cite While You Write add-in, the spell check as you type (red squiggly line under misspelled words) stopped working. I have added any other add-ins, so I am pretty sure that EndNote is the culprit.
Could someone let me know if there is a solution to this problem?
I’m running the same configuration as you are (Windows 10, Endnote X7 .5, Word 2016) and the spell check (which is handled by WORD) is working fine. Suggest you check the “Proofing” section of your Word option in to see if any setting was accidentally unchecked.
Can anyone on Thomson Reuters can answer this query sitting here for long. How to fix this spell check issue with MS Word. I am having Endnote 7.2.1, still spell check never work. And even when I convert the endnote document to text, MS Word still is unable to find spelling errors. Spell check in MS Word works perfect till I insert my first citation and becomes worse if track changes in on.

First, why are you still using Endnote X7.2.1 and not the current updates of X7.7.1 (or was that a typo). Like CrazyGecko, I have no problems using spell check in an endnote cited document. My spell check options in word are shown in the attached image. Are you using any other add-ins or working in tables, textboxes, etc that might restrict words ability to spell check? (p.s. while branding changes are not yet complete, I understand that Endnote is now owned by Clarivate Analytics and not Thomson Reuters).
I had the same problem with Win10, Word 2016, and Endnote 7.5. My Word works correctly until I update the Endnote citations. After updating citations the proofing tool disables. I tried this hint and solved the problem:
In the Review tab select the Language option and then select the “set proofing language”. In the dialog box make sure the correct language is selected and verify the checkbox “Do not check spelling or grammar” is unchecked.
