X3 - Pressing on delete key sends reference to Unfiled group

When I try to delete references (using the delete key on my keyboard) in Endnote X3, they are placed in the Unfiled group instead of the Trash.

In EndNote X3 the Delete key serves two slightly different functions depending on your focus:

  • If you are in “All References”, Delete moves records to the Trash.

  • If you are in a custom Group, Delete removes records from the custom Group but does not put them in the Trash.

To move records from a custom Group directly to the Trash, use the “Move References to Trash” command - from the right-click menu or the main References menu.
