Add word inside citation parentheses

I want to add “DSM” inside the parentheses of the citation.

Ex.  "…identified in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM; American Psychiatric Association, 2000).    EndNote will not allow me to insert “DSM” inside the parentheses of the citation.  Can this be done?

You can’t edit directly.  You need to do it thru the “edit citation” interface (because you have to edit the field) by right clicking in the formated reference.  You would put DSM;<space> in the prefix field.
