Adding prefix and additional references

Hi there,

I am having a few problems with endnote.

When I enter a reference such as Ministry of Education, the second time I insert the reference it appears as just Education which is a little annoying.

Also, is there any way to increase the number of characters allowed in the prefix section or if not, how do you add a note. I am also finding that sometimes when I insert a prefix then want to add the reference for it, it jumps to another line. This is also annoying.

Any help with this would be awesome.

Thanks!

How are you entering the “author” (trailing comma) for Ministry of Education and what style are you using (attach it please if it is customized)

Check the program Help - index under Notes, as numbered citations.

How are you entering the prefix?

Great, I think inserting the additional text as a note will resolve the problem. thanks for your help.

Insert a comma after organizational names -  so your author field entry looks like this:  Ministry of Education,

Adding the comma enables EndNote to distinguish organizational names from “people” names.  As for your second question, could you further explain what you’re doing?  Why do you want to add so much text preceding the reference?  Or are you trying to do a footnote, endnote or other?

Hi there, Thanks for your help, that should solve the problem for the organisations. Have started entering the additional text into the notes section which is working.  thanks again.
