I’ve seen this posted in the general questions forum from 2015, but not finding it in the suggestions forum. When I want to cite an author more than one time in the same paragraph, APA allows for not including the year in the second and greater citation. I therefore want to cite Jones (2016) the first time, and Jones after that - no year. But EndNote defaults to adding parentheses when Author (no year) is selected. So I get (Jones). That’s fine for an end of sentence citation, but I often need/want to write "Jones (2016) stated that blah, blah, blah. Jones contended that blah, blah, blah). I believe this would be a very useful addition to EndNote citations and hope to see it addressed soon.
