changing font style when editing output style

I am using EndNote X6 and am looking for a way to change the font when editing an output style. I would like to have “et al.” underlined in the citation. There is a box to check to have it italicized, but is it possible to have it underlined instead?

Hello Alison,

In an output style you can apply italics to the phrase et al but that is the only type of font formatting available.

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you would like to see this feature in a future version of EndNote, You may want to submit a request for a product enhancement on our website.

As a workaround you can use the Convert to Plain Text command in Word once you have inserted all your citations to remove the EndNote codes in the document so you could manually use underlining on the phrase “et al” on your in-text citations.
