Chicago 15a footnotes disappear!

Hi, I’m having an odd problem,

When I go to insert a citation in Chicago 15a nothing happens, the bibliography shows the cite and when I go to manage cite I see it there. But not in the body of the document. Even in documents where I already have cites in 15a footnote style.

I am however able to insert other style cites that are non-footnote style.

I have tried:

new document

restarting

reinstalling

What else should I try?

You need to insert the footnote with Word’s insert footnote, and then put the citation in the footnote itself.
