Citation Field Substitutions

In my output style, websites include a publication date, and updated date, and an accessed date. Depending on the website, some references may have one or more of these fields present. I would like to modify my citation template such that the in-text citation gives Author, Title, Year. For the year, I want it to start with the updated date. If that field is blank, I want it to switch to publication date. If both are blank, I want it to use access date.

Is this possible?

Currently you cannot do that type of substitution for the In-Text citations.

You could could include all three fields in the template and it would do want you but it would also display more than one of the fields if more than one is filled in.

If you would like to see this feature in a future version of EndNote, You may want to submit a request for a product enhancement on our website.
