Citation has duplicated and now the rest are all out-of-sync

I don’t know how this happened but all my citations below the section I’m working on have just gone out of sync… by one!

So it looks like one citation has duplicated and somehow pushed all the ones below down by one, so now I have “quote quote” (Citation A) … “quote quote” (Citation B) … “quote quote” (Citation C), where it should be A, B, C (D, E, F, …)  not A, A, B (C, D, E…).

Is there a way to remove the duplicated citation and move all the others back by one spot so they’re in the right place?!?!

Any help appreciated!

FYI, I’m on a Mac (OS 10.7.5) using MS Word (for Mac 2011, 14.3.9) and Endnote X7.0.1

Thanks,

Greg.

Make a copy of the document. Try unformating them to temporary citations.  Are they right?  If so, is there any weird punctuation in the brackets?  is so remove it. reformat.  Are they right?

if wrong at any of these steps –  CONTACT TECH SUPPORT! (www.endnote.com))  as I doubt we other users can help you here.
