Citation keeps putting author's initial

I am using Endnote 6 and APA style. For one of my references (which has an hyphenated surname - don’t know if that’s got something to do with it), the citation always includes the author’s first name initial. How can I get rid of this?

This can happen if there are any variations on the author name in the library. For example, let us say there are three citations in your library from the same author and three variations on how it is entered:

Smith, John

Smith, J

Smith, J.P.

While you may know these are all the same authors, EndNote does not. Please see the following article for more information on this:
