Hi all,
I have a question about Google Docs/Word Online integration with EndNote 21. I have many researchers who come to our library and would like to be able to cite references from a shared library or a shared group in an online shared document like Google Docs or Word Online. They want to be able to collaborate with their peers on both a library or group of references AND a shared document where they will cite those shared references.
As far as I can tell, there is no way to do this with EndNote 21. It’s my understanding that unless all the researchers on a project sync the shared library with EndNote Web, they can’t cite those references in online word processors. Moreover, if a group of researchers wants to share only a group of references, they must with EndNote Online Classic, which doesn’t work with Google Docs or Word Online.
To me, this seems like an essential function of a citation management software, and it’s something you can do easily with other citation management systems like Zotero. Is this an issue others experiences and if so, do you have a recommended work around? Lastly, does anyone know if this problem is addressed with the new EndNote 2025 roll out. Thanks in advance for any advice!
