I am using EndNote X6 to cite articles in the “Crop Science” style. I want to cite the SAS program as follows:
SAS Institute. 2011. The SAS system for Windows. Release 9.2. SAS Inst…, Cary, NC.
However, when I enter this citation into EndNote, this reference appears as follows:
Institute, S. 2011. The SAS system for Windows. Release 9.2. SAS Inst., Cary, NC.
I am using the “Computer Program” reference type.
So it is just the name that is troubling you?
(not the extra period I hope?)
In the “author field” – add a comma to the end of SAS Institute
That worked! Thank you very much for your time.
I am having a similar problem citing SAS in Endnote X5. I am using “Tropical Animal Health and Production” referencing style. I am also entering the citation under Computer Programs. The output Im getting looks like this,
SAS Institute, 2011. The SAS system for Windows., 2011., (SAS Inst., Cary, NC.)
SAS Institute. 2011. The SAS system for Windows. Release 9.2. SAS Inst…, Cary, NC
It is likely that there is no template for that reference type for “Computer Programs” in your output style of choice. The “generic” template doesn’t work, so you will need to edit the output style to include the order of fields to get the prefered order. Whcih output style do you use?
