composite citations in endnote web

Hi

i have a question concerning endnote web and its plug-in to MS word.

I am working on my phd-thesis in chemistry and I would like to combine referneces in my bibliography, as i found on the endnote-homepage this is called “composite references” (composite styles that group citations by number and letter (popular with chemistry styles)

for example the reference should look as follows:

[1] a) A. Author, B. Coauther, Journal XXXX , Volume, page - page; b) A. Author, B. Coauther, Journal XXXX , Volume, page - page; c) … (and so on)

As mentioned above I am using endnote web, and I would like to use the “Angewandte Chemie”-output style. I found some solutions to this problem by editing the outputstyle in EndNote X3 and above. But is this also possible in the Web based application?

Best regards

Simon

Hi Simon,

Composite references are only possible using the desktop at this time. It’s something that may be added to the web application at a later date, but for the timebeing you need to use EndNote X3 or X4. Apologies for any inconvenience this might cause.

Hi

thanks for your answer, actually I expected that this is only possible in the higher desktop versions. So I can finally start concentrating on my actual thesis again:wink:

Thanks anyway, I am sure I will also get my bibliography done without this feature

Best regards

Simon

Dear Thomson Reuters,

I am using End note X5.

How do I get " composite references" (OR) -  in other words -multiple references under a single number -

for example:

  1. (a) Becke, A. D. J. Chem. Phys. 1993, 98, 5648–5652; (b) Lee, C.; Yang, W.; Parr, R.
    G. Phys. Rev. B 1988, 37, 785–789; (c) Stephens, P. J.; Devlin, F. J.; Chabalowski,
    C. F.; Frisch, M. J. J. Phys. Chem. 1994, 98, 11623–11627.

instead of

With kind regards,

Nilesh
