When I import journal articles into Endnote and they appear in the Imported References group, I like to edit them to make sure they conform to my preferences for the journal title and the keywords. In particular, I don’t like importing the default keywords that come with the articles (but I do want the abstracts).
It seems that Endnote saves the new terms to the terms lists as soon as the import is done, and my changes to the keywords stay with articles, but I end up with unwanted keywords in the terms list.
So, is there any way to make the importing of references temporary until I review the imported reference?
