Duplicate entries in my Bibliography

I really hope someone can help me as I’ve really been struggling with Endnote (X1). My bibliography generated by Endnote in my word document has multiple entries of the same document (one entry has the pages correct and one is incorrect as per the example below)

Amabile, TM, Conti, R, Coon, H, Lazenby, J &  Herron, M 1996, ‘Assessing the work environment for creativity’,  Academy of Management Journal, vol.  39 issue 5, pp. 1154.

Amabile, TM, Conti, R, Coon, H, Lazenby, J &  Herron, M 1996, ‘Assessing the work environment for creativity’,  Academy of Management Journal, vol.  39 issue 5, pp. 1154 - 1184.

My Endnote library only has the correct one?

Here is what I’ve tried to get rid of the duplicates:

  1. Deleted the bibliography and used “update citations and bibliography”

  2. Removed all references to the article in the document. Deleted bibliography and used “update citations and bibliography”

Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Try completely unformating (back to the temporary citations in curly brackets) and reformat the document.  When reformating, you will probably be prompted for the offending version of the reference.  also turn back on CWYW from the appropriate tab in the reformat dialog box.
