I am currently writing an article with my main library (size: 38 GB). Whenever I open a second library and then try to close that one EndNote crashes. Since then I have not been able to open the large library on its own. However, when both libraries are open, EndNote cites from the smaller one, even though it is supposed to cite from the large database. Can anyone help with these two problems?

Have you tried using the recovery command under the tools menu in EndNote? Also, where is the library located? If it’s in a cloud folder such as iCloud, Google Drive or Dropbox, that will corrupt the library. So you would need to move the library’s .data folder and .enl file to your local machine before running the recover library command in EndNote/Tools.
