EndNote leaves spaces between letters when copying text

Hello lovely people, 

I decided to use EndNote for my dissertation, which I have mostly written already. I tried to copy my references from MS Word Online but when I save it, EndNote leaves weird spaces in between the letters of each word. Has anyone experienced this problem before? 

I thought if I use EndNote this would save me time, but I have to delete these spaces manually, that might be more time consuming.

Maybe you should contact Technical Support directly – as I have no ideas and it appears no one else does either?
