EndNote Online export as RIS

Hi,
I would like to suggest that in the next update to EndNote online, the Export References feature be enhanced to make the RIS export create a .ris file rather than a .txt file. I have to manually change the file extension to .ris to for my colleague to be able to automatically open the file in their EndNote desktop or another citation management program, or they have to go through a multi-step manual import process. Why can’t the export file simply save with .ris file extension in the first place?

And yes, I know that I can share groups with fellow EndNote users, but occasionally they want their own RIS file and/or prefer another citation management system.

Just checking to see whether you found a solution to this, as I’d also like to export as an .ris or .enw file. Thanks

While there is no permanent solution to this, if you are strictly working with EndNote, instead of changing the extension or using the “File > Import” function you could simply drag and drop the .TXT file into the left panel of your library and the references will be imported automatically.
