I’m using word 2008, 12.1.0 on a mac and EndNote X1; I have downloaded the patch. When I’m working in Word and insert a citation from EndNote I get the following error message “Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to be closed - we are sorry for the inconvenience”. I’m using a footnote style - Chicago 15 A. Does anyone have any ideas?

The information at http://www.endnote.com/support/CWYW_Word_2008.asp does not really help. I have installed SP1 and run the patch. I can see the cwyw toolbar and everything seems to be okay most of the time except every now and again (not always) when I insert a citation I get the error message “Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to be closed - we are sorry for the inconvenience”. The problem is when I open Word again all my citations have disappeared, so I have to start from scratch again.
Has anyone reported this problem?
I think your problem is that you need to upgrade to Word 12.1.2
