EndNote X2 Mac OS X does not launch

Hi,

I am in an MacBookPro 17" with Mac OS X 10.5.5. I recently bought the EndNote X2 upgrade. I cannot launch it. This is what I did: 

1) I uninstalled EndNote X. 
2) My CD drive is not working, so I ftp the contents of the CD to my desktop
3) I copied the folder “EndNote X” in my folder “Applications”
4) When I click on “EndNote X.app” the executable seems to start running but it quits in less than a second. 

Any ideas?

Perhaps it has something to do with a copy protection on the CD, which unables you to launch the program when you copy it.

You can download the installer from the EndNote web site.  I would recommend downloading the installer and running the installer:
