EndNote not running on Mac


I have trouble running EndNote on my Mac (MacBook Pro, 2018, OS X 10.14.5). 

The icon just bounces in the dock and the app never launches, just goes into “Application not responding” mode. I tried a solution previously described in the forum, which involved deleting a Library/Preferences file as well as running FirstAid on the hard drive, but no luck. The same with just rebooting and also deleting the app and re-installing. 

Any help would be appreciated.

After un-installing/re-installing a couple of times, it did launch but only when I skipped the update to the latest version (9.1.1 if memory serves). Maybe a compatibility issue with the newly released Mac OS 10.14.5?

We will be keeping an eye out for more reports of any issues with 10.14.5

Doubt it. I had no issues with opening ENX8 on macOS 10.14.x including the beta of 10.14.6. Might have something to do with permissions/Gatekeeper. That would be what I would check first, not a software incompatibility. The changes in 10.14.5 and higher are minimal and should not affect compatibility with apps in general. Good luck.
