Endnote X4 and Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard compatibility

I recently upgraded to X4 and was wondering about compatibility with the Snow Leopard operating system. I had read about serious bugs with Endnote X3 and Snow Leopard using Word 2008. Have these been addressed with X4? I’m currently running Leopard (OS X 10.5) and am in the middle of my dissertation, so I don’t want to risk serious problems by upgrading now.

The documentation provided with X4 states that it is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6, but mistakenly labels these as Tiger and Leopard, respectively, instead of Leopard (10.5) and Snow Leopard (10.6). Should this read Leopard and Snow Leopard?

X4 is compatible with Leopard and Snow Leopard. The version numbers are correct in the guide but the names are not so we will fix that. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Regarding the issues with Snow Leopard and Word 2008, we are aware of an issue that’s related to a particular workflow involving printing. If you are not experiencing any issues now with X4 and Leopard, I would recommend waiting to do the OS upgrade for a few months. We should know more then.
