Endnote X7.1 keep crashing while opening a big liabrary data file

I have been experiencing a crashing problem with the Endnote X7 software for windows.

I can open an empty or small endnote document but not able to open my own Endnote library document.

It might be too big (700 refferces and 330Mb including attachments) but not likely a hardware issue from my computer.

My computer is a Lenovo M Seres ThinkCentre.

Processor: intel core i5-3470 CPU @3.2GHz

RAM:8G

System:64-bit

For temporary usage, I found an alternative way to read it through “file importing” from my own *.enl data file…

However, once the software was turned off, the endnote software still crashs (keep not responding as shown in the attachment).

It doesn’t seem to be a problem with my data file as our IT staff was able to read it and operate normally with Endnote for Mac. In addition, no broken reference was found when applied the “recover library” operation.

but they counld not sort it out with Endnote for windows.

Does anyone else have similar problem and how did you slove it?

that’s happening to me too. Not sure if it’s the library. EndNote would occasionally crash when I was renaming or updating references before. Today it won’t open at all.

If you find a solution, please let me know. I’ll do the same.
