Error message with instant formatting

I have just moved from version 5 to 7, and have opened paper I created in version 5.  I am inserting new references and they appear as temporary citations. There seems to a problem when I turn on ‘instant formatting’.  I get an error message box (which seems to pop up several times a minute). This also happens if I open a new document and insert references. Any advice appreciated.

Have you tried unformating and reformating with a default output style like Author, year or numbered?  I seem to remember this happening to me, way back and something like that fixed it.  I think the paper may have been being formated with a style that wasn’t available?
