if i click edit citation in a word document and i choose- exclude author so i get for example: neta, jack, bradd and lolly (2000) found that…
After that, if i write it again without to exclude the author, all the names appear (neta, jack, bradd and lolly, 2000)
but i want it to be (neta et al., 2000)
i don’t want to change it each time
is there a solution?
Which Reference Manager output style have you selected within your Word document? Each output style is able to have a definition for how to format a citation the first time it is cited within a document and a seperate defintion for subsequent appearances of a particular citation. The formatting behavior you’ve described may indicate the subsequent appearance definition needs to be tweaked within the selected output style. Please let me know what you find.
