How do I stop the automatic jump to ref list whenever I add a ref.?

Hello, I am using x1 endnote and word 2007, whenever I add a new reference  in a 40 page document endonte jumps to the refernce list automatically and stops there and I have to  find my way back again, it’s very annoying and I am sure there is a way to overcome that I just can’t find it and I hope you can help me with it since it will save a lot of time and help concentrate more on the work being done.Thanks.
