When I attached a file to a reference, endnote will copy it to its directory but it will not delete the original one. However, I want it to be detele automatically, otherwise, I have to do it manually. Is there a way to configure endnote to do so?

Not to my knowledge. I guess you could use the “image” field, where only one file can be attached at a time, but the power of the PDF attachment field is that you can attach more than one, including supplemental figures, and other related materials. So I wouldn’t want it to automatically delete a previous copy?
