In ProCite, I had a key for myself using three asterisks ***. When I ported everything to EndNote, I discovered that the asterisk is the wild card. EndNote will not permit a search on ***.
How can I find the records that have *** in the Notes field?
Did you check the "Match Case’ option then set up the EndNote search criteria as: Notes Contains ***
Another possibility might be to use EndNote’s “Change Text” feature to convert the astericks (***) to a different symbol or coding feature. Suggest testing this on a duplicate copy of your original library file or on a subset of the library to see if this meets your needs first. [Go to the EndNote toolbar, select EDIT, CHANGE TEXT.]
