I am using EndNote X9 and I would like to sort my EndNote library entries according to the citation order in my MS Word document. When I right-clicked on the header of the columns in the library, there is a long list of field options but “Citation Order” is not one of them. The closest I can find is “Record Number”, which does not correspond to the order of citation in the text. It would be useful to be able to sort the library according to citation order especially when one is copying references across different libraries. May I know if there is a way to sort the library according to citation order?
