In my discipline, we use footnotes or endnotes to provide information that pertains to the main text, but is slightly tangental. At times we need to cite a source in the note itself. When I try to insert a citation in a foot or endnote, instead of getting the author-date, the whole citation appears. Is it possible to insert a citation in a note, and how would I do that?
