I’m using Endnote X7, word 2010,windows 7 professional.
When I put a citation in text, I can get it to do (children act, 1989) but when I change it to Author, (Year) it does one of two things.
It puts, ‘Children Act,’ 1989, Missing both brackets or
it puts, Children Act, (1989, Missing the 2nd bracket.
Occassionally it will put the references like this:
(Childrent Act, (1989)
Which none are correct.
Any ideas please?
Many Thanks

And what do you want it to look like?
Is Children act the “author” or prefix text you inserted, in which reference type is the cited record?
Which output style are you using?
Can you attach it to your message if you have altered a Endnote output style in anyway?
I have been looking around and I have found the cause of the problem. I am using a custom output style and having reviewed it, it was not setup correctly, so I have amended it and its now working correctly.
Thanks for your reply.
