Inserting aditonal in text citations into an already existing in text citation list

Hi,

I have got a problem with inserting additional in text citations into an already existing in text citation list. I am using endnote x3 with microsoft word 2007. Whenever I attempt to insert a new citation into an existing list of citations instead of adding it to the list, it creates a new citation within the citations.

Unformatted example: text {Edvaardson, 1998 #53;Glibert, 2005#5;}text. Whenever I go to insert a new reference it turns it into :

{Edvaardson, 1998 #53;{Faker, 2007 #49}Glibert, 2005#5;}.

surely there has to be a solution to this, otherwise that would be a royal pain the …

cheers

Keep the citations unformated and change the citation manually to:

{Edvaardson, 1998 #53;Faker, 2007 #49;Glibert, 2005#5}

Then format the manuscript.

This should fix the problem.

Best wishes

Jan Ove

Or make sure you are outside the citation, and add the new ref, making sure there is no space between the two (Word often automatically inserts a space and you may want to adjust that “feature” when inserting text).

Cheers for that, highly appreciated!
