Keyboard shortcuts in Endnote

Hi,

Are keyboard shortcuts operational in Endnote (I don’t mean through Word) ?

I use Endnote for viewing/highlighting text in the pdf view tab so having a keyboard shortcut (ctrl + H perhaps) to highlight selected text would make the pdf view more functional.

I’m currently using X5

You should be able to find them in the help of X5 (search after hitting F1).  In X7 the two sets I found are shown below.  But none of them help with annotation shortcuts.  (PS  I am an experienced user, and have no affiliation with endnote)

Keyboard Commands

A full set of key commands is available so that you can enter references without using the mouse. For example, to create and enter a new reference without touching the mouse, select Ctrl+N to add a new reference, type the bibliographic information using Tab or Shift+Tab to move forward or backward between the fields, and then press Ctrl+W to save and close the reference.

Command Function

Ctrl + N Creates a new reference
Ctrl + Click To select more than one reference
Shift + Click Selects a range of references
Ctrl + E Opens selected references
Ctrl + W Closes the active window
Tab Selects the next field
Shift + Tab Selects the previous field
When text is selected
Ctrl + T Sets the text style to plain
Ctrl + L Selects the plain font
Ctrl + B Turns bold on and off
Ctrl + I Turns italics on and off
Ctrl + U Turns underlines on and off

Note: Use the Arrow keys to navigate within a field.

Menu Keyboard Commands

The EndNote menus display equivalent key commands next to many menu commands, so you can execute commands without taking your hands off the keyboard to use a mouse. You can use the following tables as a quick reference.

All commands are not always available to you. For example, if no references are highlighted in the Library window, the Edit References and Move References to Trash commands are not available from the References menu.

These tables list only those commands with a keyboard equivalent. Not all menu commands have a corresponding keystroke.

Note: Use the F6 key to navigate from the Groups panel to the reference list to the Reference panel at the bottom of the screen.
