Lost endnote library without deleting anything

I have used Endnote for almost four years. I went to open the library two days ago and to my astonishment the library was nowhere to be found, how is this possible.

When going to recover the library the only files that I have in my endnote file are eni not enl. I have no idea how the library got deleted.
How do i recover the library, very frustrating after building a library for my dissertation over three years to lose it.

If you’ve lost your EndNote library without deleting anything, try these steps:

Check Original Folder: Ensure the .enl file and .Data folder are in the original location.
Search Your Computer: Look for files with the .enl extension.
Check Backups: Look for recent backups of your library.
Recent Files in EndNote: Check the “File” menu in EndNote for recently opened libraries.
Temporary Files: Search for temporary versions of your library.
EndNote Sync: Restore your library from synced data.
Contact EndNote Support: They can offer additional help based on your version and OS.

Regularly back up your EndNote libraries to prevent future data loss.
