Malfunctioning of X2 under Mac with OS Leopard 10.5: scrambled library and no "online" connection

Greetings,

I have a licensed copy of EndNote X2.0.1 (Build 3889 with the latest patch, apparently) which I have tried to install on my new Mac, with

System Version: Mac OS X 10.5.6 (9G55)

  Kernel Version: Darwin 9.6.0

while the installation appears complete, the program does not work too well. I have encountered two problems:

  1. My old library, which I have carried with me across several versions of EndNote for Windows and now for Mac appears scrambled.  The association between the Journal Names, Authors etc did not quite work for me. Please see picture attached.
  2. EndNote misbahaves on OS 10.5
  3. The “Online” connection to remote databases won’t work. It just does nothing.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

Thank you for your patience

a brief update on this malfunctioning:

  1. Editing the “display fields” on the main EndNote window changes its appearance back to normality. However, quitting and restarting EndNote produces the same odd result that I indicated earlier in the thread.

  2. Importing does not work either.

Thank you,

Massimo

It looks like someone else had similar problems. I have sorted things out following each piece of advice that was provided in this other thread:

thank you, Massimo
