Is there a maximum number of references that can comfortably be accommodated in a single EndNote file? I have a bibliographical file with just over 16,000 bibliographical citations or references. When I start it, it now “sorts” the references, which takes a few seconds, not the worst possible issue at all. But is this starting to hint that my file is too large?
