I have been reading earlier posts on the inability to add new citation templates. Is this still the case?
I am trying to cite the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, in text. I want my first in-text citation to look like this:
"…as referenced by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5; 5th ed., American Psychiatric Association [APA], 2013)
and subsequent in-text citations to look like this:
“…as stated in the DSM-5 (APA, 2013)”
As you can see, there is a lot of information in the first citation (that is not in subsequent citations) due to abbreviation of proper nouns. To my knowledge, there is no way of editing the citation template such that the first and subsequent citations are different. Am I wrong, or is there a solution to what I want to achieve?
