I am working on a paper in Word 365. What I need is numbered intext citations with the reference information then in a correlating bibliography.

So, intext would be [1] with then the bibliography, for instance, showing

  1. Author’s name and work title etc

I cannot seem to find how to get this done

ordered by appearance or alphabetically? Is there a detailed description for the way the references should be ordered in the bibliography? the publisher or publication should provide that. Have you looked at the IEEE style (appearance order) for example? You can find styles from endnote, from the help menu - then search for non-superscripted numbered styles.

I have this style in my collection that might work. Open it (it should open in endnote and then save as. This is also in order of appearance.
