Quick way to remove duplicates from a bibliography/in-text?

Hi all,

In X7 or X8, if I remove duplicates from a library, what will happen if both duplicates have been inadvertantly used in a document?

Will the duplicate reference in my document be converted to link to the remaining record, or will it still be duplicated in my bibliography? If the latter, is there a quick way to check for duplicate references within a document and unify them?

Maybe!  

If the duplicates were identical, they should be resolved into one, anyway, if preferences in endnote are set (see attached).  It is possible the other “duplicate” will be retained in the “travelling library” - especially if the records have subtle differences.
