I am wondring how to stop this a b appearing in my text,

example : (Wackerhage, 2014a)

This is the way that the output style is making sure that two citations by the same author in the same year are distinguished.  (or it thinks there are two citations by the same author in the same year). 

What are the publishers instructions for handling “ambiguous citations”? 

what style are you using and how would you expect to handle distinguishing between the two citations?
