Relative path problems, help much appreciated!

Hi,

I have been given the task of updating our offices Reference Manager, The attachments were previously entered onto Ref Man via Endnote as a mixture of file attachments and URL.

I wish to make these links have relative paths, but some of the previous attachments state “file deleted from the  corresponding path” despite the fact that this is not the case (the file pathway is still correct). I can manually go through each reference and re-attach each link but this is going to be incredibly time consuming! Is there any way of fixing this problem so that I can simply convert all absolute paths to relative paths?

Also when I have converted files to relative pathways they do not fully complete the conversion. If I look in the “attachments” the file is not there.

Any suggestions welcome,

Thank you!

Hi,

I will put my question much like a previous input  by another user.

My PC have been upgraded from Windows XP and Reference Manager 11 to 12 in one step, Before the upgrade the files and the databases were backed up on a USB stick.

The attachments to the references were previously entered onto Ref Man  as a mixture of file attachments (pdf) and URL.

All the pdf files have still their name but not the path (which I can not retrieve). What happened to the path? I get the message: “file deleted from the corresponding path”. I could manually go through each reference and re-attach each link but this is going to be incredibly time consuming!

Any suggestions welcome,

Thank you!
